Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 amβ12 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (919) 537-3565. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, carolinadentistry.org.
Its Google rating stands at 2.6 out of 5 from 23 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Chapel Hill is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chapel Hill follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I missed a call and when I called back the lady on the phone had an attitude and hung up on me while I was asking for an emergency appointment. Thats just overly unprofessional and we were on call for less than 30 seconds, where is the patience??

Called multiple times and have only picked up the phone a few times. I've been waiting to get my wisdom teeth removed and have been calling since last month. What's the point of this place?? 6/5/26: Days later and still haven't called me back so I can set up an appointment. Go to another place these people don't care.

After going to the UNC school of dentistry for an x-ray (who were great), they sent us to the oral surgery floor where they thought they could fit us in. Seven hours after checking in, at closing time, they still had not seen my daughter for a broken tooth and we were forced to walk out. if I could give them zero stars I would.

I want to start by saying the registration staff and nurses were genuinely kind, patient, and supportive throughout this experience. They were the bright spot in an otherwise very stressful situation. However, there were several serious concerns with my sonβs oral surgery experience that I feel other families, especially caregivers of individuals with special needs, should be aware of. We were instructed to arrive at 9:30 a.m., only to later be told the surgery was actually scheduled for 11:30. Even after that, my son was not taken back until around 2:00 p.m. Sitting for hours with an autistic individual who depends heavily on routine and predictability was extremely difficult and could have been handled with much better communication and consideration. The most concerning part came after surgery. My sonβs blood pressure rose as high as 188/103 after being given Fentanyl, and I felt like I had to advocate far too hard for concerns to be taken seriously before discharge was discussed. Multiple medications had to be administered to bring his blood pressure down. As his parent and legal guardian, it was also disappointing that the surgeon never personally came out afterward to discus

Disagree with all the negative reviews. Yes the wait times are long, but Dr. Blakey is the best. He knows what heβs doing.
